Conspiracy Corner – Hurricane Sandy and the POTUS

When natural disasters strike, people like to have someone to blame. Who better than the President of the United States of America?

We didn’t even get to cover a quarter of the candidate conspiracy theories for Hurricane Sandy. Here’s a list of other potential causes for the hurricane, courtesy of my good, enraged friend, Rageaholic:

  • Gay people
  • Al Franken
  • Taylor Swift
  • Carly Rae Jepsen
  • People who like Halloween
  • Spongebob Squarepants
  • Lesbians (possibly butch ones names sandy)
  • Obama’s Pagan-Homosexual empire and their radical plot to gay-sexularise america

Conspiracy Corner – October, Surprise (and a little rant about Donald Trump)

Another week, another Conspiracy Corner with yours truly. This week: The October Surprise (the surprise is, it’s all about Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter)!

One thing we sort of didn’t get around to mentioning is whether the October Surprise conspiracy theory is warranted. I think not and, as support to my claim, I’m going to do something I thought I would never do. I’m going to link, approvingly, to a piece by Daniel Pipes.

We also talked briefly about Donald Trump’s 5 million dollar challenge to Barack Obama to release his college and passport documents.

Frankly, I’ll be very surprised if the office of the POTUS accedes to this demand.

Conspiracy Corner – Let’s do the Timewarp (again!)

Last year I talked about the wonderfully wacky claims of William Stillings, Andrew Basiago and Barack Obama’s missions to Mars. Apparently Basiago has also spent some time at Ford’s Theatre (which, in my head cold daze, I erroneously called the “Gettysburgh Theatre”), specifically on the day of April 14th, 1865.

Conspiracy Corner – Swedish Chemtrails Revelation

The big news: a Swedish politician has admitted that chemtrails are real, the CIA are behind them and…

Well, actually, maybe not. It’s a rather confusing story.

You can read more about this interesting and potentially misleading reveal here and here.

Conspiracy Corner – Echo Chambers

I could make a silly “echo echo echo” joke but I’ve just applied for five academic postings and feel far too tired to pretend to be witty. I was funnier yesterday (albeit marginally), as you can hear here (here here!):
